Movement and Nutrition Exploration Guatemala

The Retreat

Raw and Ready is excited to present a week long movement and nutrition exploration retreat on Lake Atitlan, Guatemala. We have partnered with Leila Panjvani and Jefferey Ford to create a versatile and exciting experience.

Lake Atitlan, Guatemala

During the week’s retreat we will be moving our body daily using different modalities. We will practice yoga, Pilates and explore our physicality through movement workshops that target our strength, endurance and mobility.

The Bambu, Atitlan Organics

Our intention for this week is for you to explore your body and mind on all levels. For that reason we will also offer a nutrition workshop, an introduction to permaculture farming workshop, a herbal workshop where we will learn about the medicinal properties of various plants, and a cooking class where we do all of the harvesting on the farm. We will develop our understanding on how our food grows, how to prepare and cook it, and how to use it as a tool for healing. Combined with movement and meditation, this week gives space for us to elevate our personal practices around self-care.

Staying at the Bambu on the lake has a feeling like a home away from home. The Bambu is part of a permaculture farm, and all the meals are composed of over 60% of their organic produce.

From Farm to Table, Atitlan Organics

This retreat will give you amazing practices you can continue integrating once you get back home, which is the most exciting part! :)

Ma'ayan Jasovich

Graduated from the Nutrition and Food Science program at Ryerson University (BASc.), as well as Ahimsa Yogayama Teacher Training in Toronto and the Agatsu Mobility & Movement certification in Montreal. Ma’ayan developed a plethora of scientific understanding of the body and its relationship with food.

As a dancer, a yoga teacher and a mover, Ma’ayan believes in nourishing the symbiotic relationship of our body with food and movement.

As such, she has a holistic approach to healing; always elevating the communication between the mind, body and soul.

Leila Panjvani

Motivated by the joy that comes with feel-good, quality movements, I started in fitness by coaching a high school ultimate frisbee team. Drawn to workouts that encourage good posture and full-body strength and mobility, I started teaching Pilates in 2013. I now also teach yoga whenever I can and have been continuing my fitness education with RTS and DNS programs, which bring a lot of mindfulness to stacking exercises and defining appropriate fitness goals.

Lagree Certified Trainer, Ahimsa (safe sequencing and poses) Yoga Instructor, RTS Resistance Training Specialist, DNS Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization Series 1 & 2 VIA Somatic Senses.

Jeffery Ford

Being appreciative of health and the way holistic living helps to facilitate it, I have spent just over half of my life analyzing and integrating the various aspects into my mind, body, and spirit. Through this journey I have had to face myself in many ways, but the challenges have made me stronger on all levels. At the moment I can say that I will always persist in trying to become fundamentally healthier. My mind, body and spirit are part of my daily curriculum, and it is always a blessing to share myself with others who seek to grow and evolve from their unique and beautiful space.
